Overview
This Contributor Agreement outlines the understanding between Westbrae Literary Group (“the Publisher”) and contributors (“the Contributor”) whose work is published in the Journal of the Westbrae Literary Group.
By agreeing to publish your work with the Journal, you acknowledge that you have read and accepted the terms below. No signature is required.
1. Publication of Work
The Contributor agrees to allow the Publisher to include their submitted work (“the Work”) in the Journal of the Westbrae Literary Group, in both print and digital editions.
2. Copyright and Ownership
The Contributor retains full ownership and copyright of their Work.
The Publisher makes no claim of ownership and recognizes that all creative rights remain with the author.
3. License to Publish
The Contributor grants the Publisher a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and distribute the Work as part of the Journal of the Westbrae Literary Group.
This license extends to promotional activities related to the Journal and the Westbrae Literary Group as a whole, in both print and digital formats.
4. Sales and Proceeds
The Journal of the Westbrae Literary Group may be offered for sale at a modest price to help promote its authors, reach readers, and sustain future publications.
Any proceeds are used solely to support the Journal, its contributors, and the ongoing work of Westbrae Literary Group.
5. No Monetary Compensation
The Contributor understands that publication in the Journal of the Westbrae Literary Group is an honorarium publication and agrees that they will not receive financial compensation for their contribution.
6. Duration of Agreement
This agreement remains in effect for as long as the Work appears in the Journal of the Westbrae Literary Group, whether in print or digital form.
7. Irrevocability After Publication
Once the Work has been published as part of the Journal of the Westbrae Literary Group, the Contributor’s grant of license for that specific publication becomes irrevocable.
The Contributor may not withdraw permission for distribution of any already-published edition of the Journal, whether in print or digital form.
However, the Contributor retains the right to withdraw the Work from future editions, reprints, or derivative uses that have not yet been produced.
8. Withdrawal of Work (Before Publication)
If the Work has not yet been published, the Contributor may request in writing that the Work be withdrawn from publication consideration.
9. Entire Understanding
This document represents the full understanding between the Contributor and the Publisher regarding publication in the Journal of the Westbrae Literary Group and supersedes any prior communications or informal agreements.
Acknowledgment
By confirming your participation or accepting publication in the Journal of the Westbrae Literary Group, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to these terms.
