I can't recommend this book enough. In a world full of books that are either too long and too narrow, or too general to be really useful, Jon-David Hague shows there is a better way. Just like the title promises, the treatment of the Latin language, its authors and literature is joyful - and just as valuable, it is brief. Whether you are refreshing the Latin you learned decades ago (as I was), or getting started with the language at any age, this is a short book that will give you a strong foundation and leave you more enthusiastic than when you started. Beautifully written, clear language suited to beginners or more advanced learners, and well organized to reference or read end to end.

Bravo for this book, and I hope other authors take note!
